Chepstow Museum

The museum is housed in a former apothecary's dwelling, built in 1796. Displays trace the growth of Chepstow as an important port city, and its subsequent decline and transformation into a busy market town. A collection of 18th and 19th century prints and drawings illustrate the beauty of Chepstow and the Wye Valley.

Roman Legionary Museum

A Roman fortress was founded at Caerleon about 75AD. The museum now helps modern visitors to see how the Roman legionaries lived in this former outpost of the Empire! See how the soldiers slept and ate, and visit the Amphitheatre where gladiators fought. Children can dress up in full legionary garb and learn more in a special educational centre. See map
