 Burton Pynsent Monument
We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences We took some photos of this location that we'd like to share with you  

Burton Pynsent Monument A memorial to the 18th century industrialist Sir William Pynsent of nearby Burton Pynsent. The monument was erected by William Pitt the Elder, in gratitude after Pynsent left the estate at Burton Pynsent to Pitt in thanks for his opposition to a proposed tax on cider. The column rises to 140 feet. Stairs to the top were closed after a cow managed to climb to the viewing platform, and, unable to back down, fell to its death from the top.

A restored mill with roots going back to the Domesday Book (at least!) Water powers a grain mill and provides electricty for 10 nearby homes.Named for a 13th century owner of a fulling mill here, the mill has over the centuries served as a woollen factory, silk weaving centre, and grain mill. Set in lovely gardens featuring riverside walks, water features, and Spring and Summer colours.
