The 15th century octagonal font,
with a 17th century cover |
This wonderful 17th century tomb
of John Thorneycroft occupies much of the west wall of the Milcombe
Chapel |

The 15th century rood screen is beautifully gilded and painted |
Closeup of the rood screen. Some
of the panels on the screen have floral emblems, and some, like
this one, have gilded grotesques |
Panel of the rood screen. During
the Reformation many rood screens were quite literally defaced
- the faces of saints were scratched out, as in this example. |

Beautifully carved Norman doorway in the sanctuary (beside the
altar). The carving is remarkably well preserved; crisp and clean. |

Cherubs adorning a memorial in the Milcombe Chapel |

Caved corbel head in the chancel |

Again in the Milcombe Chapel; the space between the two large
south windows of the chapel is filled with this lovely 15th or
16th century wall painting. The painting depicts the journey of
a sinner through stages of his life. |

Another look at the medieval wall painting in the Milcombe Chapel. |

Column capital in the aisle of Bloxham church. The carving is
quite remarkably intricate and cleanly done. |
