Belsay Hall and Garden
There are not one but three attractions to see at Belsay. The most prominent is Belsay Hall, a lovely mansion built in the early 19th century by Sir Charles Monck, a member of the Middleton family who were also responsible for the nearby castle and mansion house. Monck was greatly inspired by a visit to Greece, and he created his grand house in classical Greek Revival style inspired by the Temple of Theseus in Athens.

Seaton Delaval Hall
A glorious Baroque mansion built by Sir John Vanbrugh for Admiral George Delaval between 1718 and 1728. This is perhaps the best of Vanbrugh's work, which also included Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard. The house sits in extensive gardens designed in 1947 by James Russell. In the grounds are numerous garden features, including a fountain, pools, and topiary.

Wallington Hall
A 17th century Palladian mansion, the home of the Trevelyan and Blackett families. The exterior is restrained, but not so the interior, which is a splendid example of ebullient rococo plastering. The house stands in extensive landscape gardens, designed by Sir Walter Blackett in the style of Capability Brown.
Garden: Naturalistic landscaped gardens in the style of 'Capability' Brown complement the Northumberland moorland setting. Lots of room to stretch your legs along lawns, lakes and woodlands; or sit on a quiet bench in the enchanting walled garden and enjoy the blooms.
