A William and Mary mansion begun in 1692 on older foundations by William Blathwayte, Secretary of State to William III. An odd mix of French, Dutch, and Italianate styles set in parkland with formal gardens and water features. The large hall is bestrewn with portraits. Highlights include period wood paneling, a state bed, and an extensive collection of Dutch paintings and furnishings.

Snowshill Manor

Wow! A maze of rooms crammed full of the decidedly eclectic (and eccentric) collections of Charles Paget Wade, who rebuilt the ruined Cotswold manor from 1919. Bicycles, toys, musical instruments, masks, spinning wheels, and on and on. All of the finest craftsmanship.
