The Troutbeck Inn is a relaxed base providing easy access all of the Lake District and Cumbria. Believed to be Victorian in construction, with high ceilings and large bedrooms, the Inn has a warm and spacious feel. It is a comfortable base for walkers, cyclists and explorers of the Lakes and Cumbria. Refuel on our excellent food, enjoy a glass of fine wine or real ale and quietly plan tomorrow's activities in our family run bar and restaurant. The Troutbeck Inn has wonderful panoramic views of Blencathra and is within easy reach of Helvellyn, Ullswater and Derwentwater. Keswick and Penrith are both 9 miles away and Ullswater is 5 miles away, with the villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding on its shores. The lake steamers run a ferry service to many other beautiful parts of the lake. In addition to our bed and breakfast rooms, we have three beautiful luxury four star cottages: these are converted from former stables and are in the courtyard to the rear of the Inn. Each cottage is extremely spacious with a lounge and kitchen separate from the bedrooms. The living rooms have a TV and DVD. As our cottages are just across the courtyard from the Inn, why not have a night off from cooking, come and relax and let us serve you one of the mouth watering dishes from our delicious menu? Indulge in drinking fine wine and real ales or just warm your toes by the open fire with a nice mug of hot chocolate, laced with brandy of course.
