There are beautiful walks through the park and Chiltern woodlands surrounding the home of Victorian statesman Benjamin Disraeli, and the garden is a recreation of the colourful design of his wife, Mary Anne.

Stowe Landscape Gardens
The National Trust calls Stowe "Britain's largest work of art", and they may be right. A Georgian garden replete with temples, arches, bridges, and allegorical statements built into the landscape. Peaceful woodland walks, planned vistas with monuments as a focal point. Capability Brown was head gardener at Stowe for ten years, and much of his work survives. Many garden buildings have been beautifully restored and thousands of shrubs and trees have been planted in recent years. Restoration work continues in the gardens and the house. The gardens belong to The National Trust but Stowe House (not National Trust) is occupied by Stowe School to which group visits can be arranged by appointment, Tel: 01280 818282.

West Wycombe Park
Carefully preserved rococco landscape garden by Sir Francis Dashwood is the perfect counterpart to the theatrical, Italianate home he created in the mid-18th century. There is no shortage of statues and grottoes, and the ornamental lake reflects the mature trees of the park.
